After COVID lockdown, I adjusted my approach to work and life. By combining my passion for art and design with teaching, I was able to stay on top of my skills, push creative boundaries, and connect more with my community. I still work full-time as a designer and I currently teach four Upper School classes at The Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr.  These courses include Digital Art & Design, Digital Photography, and 2 periods of Art Foundations. Beyond the classroom, I am also a homeroom advisor, run the yearbook program, and manage the weekly student-run video news program. For more detailed course information, see the descriptions below. And, check out some incredible student work even further below 🙂

Art 1: Foundations
In the Art 1 Foundations year, students gain experience in all four of the Upper School Art Studios: Drawing/Painting, Sculpture, Graphic Design and Jewelry. The student-artist is part of the team working to discover her particular set of interests. After this foundation-level experience, the student- artist can choose to concentrate in one studio for the year or work in two studios for a semester each.

Digital Photography 3-4
This advanced course invites students to deepen their photographic practice by exploring topics aligned with their personal artistic interests. The curriculum emphasizes both conceptual exploration and technical mastery, encouraging students to develop a distinctive artistic voice. Through a series of individual creative projects, students will experiment with composition, lighting, and editing techniques to create compelling and impactful imagery. Projects are designed to challenge students to push boundaries, think critically about their artistic choices, and communicate their ideas effectively through visual storytelling.

Digital Art & Design 3-4
Unleash your creativity in Digital Art and Design, where technology meets artistry! In this course, students use cutting-edge software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Fresco, and Procreate to craft stunning digital artworks. Say goodbye to traditional paints and pencils and hello to digital brushes, layers, and innovative technologies. This project-driven curriculum empowers students to explore the exciting worlds of digital art and/or graphic design, honing their skills while developing unique creative perspectives. This course offers hands-on experience, endless inspiration, and the opportunity to bring your artistic vision to life in the digital realm.
